Royal Kingston Junior Curling Program
Welcome to the 2017/2018 Season of Junior Curling at Royal Kingston. We have a busy year planned, keeping all ages in mind we are hoping to individualize our program to meet the needs of all curlers from 5 to 20. I hope if you have any questions please feel free to call or email me I am available to assist the parents throughout the year. Have a great Season.
Little Rock Curling
Little Rock Curling has two sections, divided by age and skill level.
With the 5 to 7 year olds getting instruction on sheet six with Christy Gilmour. Using the half sheet of ice and the half size rocks makes the shots more attainable. Assisting Christy this year will be Sam and Josh Fowlow. The two high school students will be getting their volunteer hours while they assist Christy with learning the game and skill development.
On sheets 1 to 4 the 8 to 10 year olds will be using the full sized rocks. Dale Marecak and his daughter Samantha will assist with this age group. Along with Mary Faye and Kim Barker, this group will focus on skills and game development. It is important to remember parents need to be in attendance for the Little Rock Section, this is mandatory.
Our most qualified instructors Judy Russell and Kimberly Barker will set out a skills program that will challenge this age group. Focusing on a more accurate delivery. From now until Christmas this age group will gain skills for game play, and in January we will develop an in club league for these kids to play in, with the goal of finding two teams to play Club Championship Weekend.
High School Curling
We are looking to get more high school students involved. From 3:15 to 5 pm on Wednesday afternoons we will be running a small high school league. Working closely with Linda Lott, the High school coordinator we hope to achieve this goal.
